Distributed internationally as Burning Love, the fiery Dutch romantic drama Brandende liefde (1983) scalds the senses in its portrayal of an ambitious painter who’s torn between his career and his love for a beautiful woman. Jan Bosman (Peter Jan Rens) cleverly positions himself to obtain a key grant by seducing a shrewish, elderly arts patron. When the benefactor hires a sexy caretaker (Monique van de Ven) for her father, however, poor Bosman’s crippled about whether to go after the dame and risk losing his grant. This love-or-money dilemma is really no contest--one look at Monique’s perky orbs should settle the matter for good.
