Here's a provocative, crotch-tingling erotic drama for you, Nymphomaniac Vol. 1 (2013). Written and directed by the noted Danish talent Lars von Trier (he did Melancholia with Kirsten Dunst), there was so much fleshy goodness that the skinful genius had to release the story in two separate movie volumes. Nyphomaniac Vol. 1 begins with handsome bachelor Seligman (Stellan Skarsgård), discovering Joe (a woman! played by Charlotte Gainsbourg) beaten and discarded in an alley. Naturally, the charming dude brings her back to his apartment to tend to her wounds. While Seligman nurses Joe back to health, the defeated dame reveals she is a nyphomaniac (self-diagnosed), and entertains her saviour by sharing vignettes of her life, from birth to her current age of fifty. Told in a series of chapters we get to see in flashback, Joe’s life story is far from boring, and she spares no titillating details, especially when detailing her sexual history. Charlotte herself gets naked, as do Sophie Kennedy Clark and Stacy Martin. While the three femmes of the film show a lot of skin, some sexy body doubles (namely Danish pornstar Elvira Friis) lend a helping vagina during the scenes of sex-plicit action! You'll probably also recognize a few faces from Hollywood, including Uma Thurman, Christian Slater, Connie Nielsen, and Shia LaBeouf, who reportedly submitted personal sex tapes to von Trier to plea for a part. When it was all said and done, the whole Nymphomanic story took home eight Danish film awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Visual Effects (Mr. Skin likes this one).
