Well, that myth won't last if Americans watch more devastatingly gritty movies such as The Long Good Friday (1980). Bob Hoskins is electrifying as an English gangster whose turf is being challenged by a bomb-toting rival. His bloodthirsty revenge is a thing of legendary cinematic acting. Not too bad herself, in her sole skin onscreen, and not even uttering a word, is Pauline Melville. Mr. Skin’s not sure if she's related to America scribe Herman Melville, but viewers’ great white whales will be harpooned by her topless scene.
