Verity (2026)

Another Colleen Hoover book brought to the big screen, this one stars Dakota Johnson as Lowen Ashleigh, a nobody writer who crosses paths with Jeremy (Josh Hartnett) while she's covered in blood after witnessing a horrible accident. He turns out to be the husband of Verity Crawford (Anne Hathaway), a very popular author who recently suffered a car wreck that has left her in a catatonic state. Jeremy proposes that Lowen come live with them in their remote Vermont mansion and ghostwrite Verity’s unfinished novels, which sounds like a cushy gig, especially if there’s a lot of sexual tension between Lowen and Jeremy. But the more Lowen dives into Verity’s writing, the more it appears that Verity is a sociopath who drowned one of her twins (while trying to kill both), leading Lowen to suspect she might be faking her condition. That would mean Verity also spotted Dakota’s Tn’A during a scene where she masturbates in the tub or caught Dakota’s ass while she and Josh were banging away in bed. Sadly, the plot leaves Anne with slightly less to do, though we are treated to her in sexy lingerie during a flashback. It also fulfills our dream of seeing Anne and Dakota make out, though if it were truly our fantasy come to life, they’d both be wearing a lot less clothing!
