Sssssss (1973)

Sssssss (1973)—as the trailer says, don't say it, hiss it—begins when the delusional Dr. Stoner (Strother Martin) sells a strange snake-like creature to a carnival. As a man who specializes in the study of reptiles, it's not particularly surprising—until we learn that Dr. Stoner has been trying to find a way to change humans into snakes so that they might survive the inevitable apocalypse. When his lab assistant mysteriously goes missing, David (Dirk Benedict) is hired to take the boy's place and is given a series of shots that will allegedly protect him from the many poisonous creatures in Dr. Stoner's labs. As is turns out, David is the doctor's newest test subject, and he starts undergoing a slow but obvious transformation into a king cobra. The matter becomes even more complicated when David falls in love with Kristina Stoner (Heather Menzies), the doctor's daughter. Will the mayhem stop before David goes full-on snake, or is everyone in this poisonous situation doomed? We won't spoil the scaly surprise, but we will tell you that Heather sheds more than one layer of clothing to bare her butt when she skinny dips and rolls around with a still-human David in bed, while Bobbi Kiger shows off in lingerie on stage. This movie may be scary, but it's also Sssssssexy!
