Review

Snuff (1976) was one of the most controversial films of the 1970s — not for what it contained, but for what it said it contained. In other words, the X rated flick was sold to an unsuspecting public as an actual snuff picture, meaning it documented actual death on camera rather than using Hollywood trickery. But it turns out that the whole thing was a marketing ploy and anyone savvy enough in those days to pay attention would have seen all of the fakery and manipulation for what it was. Made by grindhouse spouses Michael and Roberta Findlay, this splatter flick purports to be about a dangerous cult leader who rallies a gang of bikers to his cause. This includes traveling the country and pretending to look for people to kill. Thankfully, the one thing in this film that’s not fake is the skin! Mirtha Massa flaunts her curves in a slinky bikini. Better yet, a number of uncredited women go full frontal! But since the low-budget pic was initially released without credits to make it seem like a documentary, the task of identifying these over-exposed actresses is hard — very, very hard! Leading lady Margarita Amuchástegui flashes her tan-lined ta-tas while literally hanging out in the woods 20 minutes into the movie. If that’s not arousing enough, the sexy brunette later lays in bed as a dude kisses her bare breasts. Even though the flick was dissed by the critics, Mr. Skin firmly gives it two thumbs and a chubby up!
