Before Bob Seger released his hit single “Night Moves” in 1976 and Kelly Reichardt directed Dakota Fanning in the drama Night Moves in 2013, movie goers went to see Night Moves back in 1975. The critically-acclaimed neo-noir thriller re-teams director Arthur Penn with actor Gene Hackman, both of whom were nominated for Academy Awards for their work on the crime classic Bonnie and Clyde (1967). This time around, Hackman is on the right side of the law as Los Angeles private investigator Harry Moseby. The broken-down dude is reduced to spying on cheating wives, including his own sexy spouse played by a topless Susan Clark. Instead of dealing with his wife’s dalliances with Marty Heller (Harris Yulin), Harry gets a good reason to leave town when a movie star hires him to find her missing daughter. FYI: the MIA PYT is portrayed by a youthful Melanie Griffith. Melanie who takes on this role as one of her earliest acting jobs and certainly made quite the impression, enough so to launch her movie career but it wasn't until the mid 80s that she reached the stratosphere of fame in showbiz! Later on becoming one of Mr. Skin's all time favorite blonde bombshells in the process! The R rated movie also includes James Woods, Janet Ward, Kenneth Mars, and Jennifer Warren’s nude boobs! Night Moves was initially entitled Dark Tower, but the name had to be changed to stand out against The Towering Inferno (1974) which is what you’ll feel below your belt!
