The breakthrough cinematic classic from the early 70s The French Connection (1971) still holds up in all its gritty and grizzly police action. When a French drug lord arrives on American soil with a large supply of heroin, Gene Hackman and Roy Schneider scour the streets of New York to nab this guy. He continually slips through their fingers and puts them in loads of dangerous situations. This film is still credited with having one of the greatest car chase scenes in the history of cinema, and not only that, but it has a little bit of worthwhile nudity as well. After Hackman’s character picks up a girl while drinking his nerves to a calm state, Schneider busts into his apartment to find the girl, Maureen Mooney, running away from him in the hallway, baring butt in the process. She and Hackman were doing a little bit French connecting.
