Whose Life Is It Anyway? (1981), the film adaptation of the Broadway hit, stars Richard Dreyfuss as a sculptor who’s left paralyzed from the neck down and goes to court over the right to end his own life. At least he’s still got a healthy imagination, though. Check out his happy fantasy of Janet Eilber as a nude ballerina whose pirouettes could pique even a paralyzed penis. Between the nubile nudity and some witty dialogue, this downer of a tale still qualifies as uplifting skinema.
