Virgin Sacrifice (1959)

A swaggering white colonialist plunges deep into the African jungle to retrieve the beautiful, kidnapped daughter of a western scientist in the exotic exploitation flick Virgin Sacrifice (1959). A serious eyebrow raiser in its era, Fernando Wagner’s film was shot in Guatemala and claimed to feature real-life members of the savage Vicuni Indian tribe, even though these “tribesmen” are credited with names like Joe, Bob, and Phil. Regardless, the spotlight falls squarely on Samson (David DaLie), the fearless mercenary who’s hell-bent on saving the luscious Morena (Angelica Morales) from the clutches of tribal evil. The Vicunis are dead-set on proving their ferocity, which is why they sacrifice poor Linda Cordova for sport. Such a shame to waste such pretty flesh on the gods!
