The Privilege (2022)

The Netflix Original Film Das Privileg die Auserwahlten (2021), or The Privilege, is a German film that travels a familiar path to anyone who watches Netflix Original films and television shows from foreign countries. Finn (Max Schimmelpfennig, a dead ringer for 1917's George MacKay) is a child of privilege whose wealthy family has pulled strings to get him into an elite private school despite the rather lackluster academic performance he's maintained throughout his schooling. Finn quickly falls in with a group of similarly privileged academic under performers like Lena (Lea van Acken), Samira (Tijan Marei), Anna (Caroline Hartig), and Sophie (Milena Tscharntke). While at first they just enjoy slacking off and skipping class, all of that changes when they begin witnessing strange supernatural phenomenon going on around them. As the group of friends begins to dig into the school's history—not to mention the connection between the school's founders and Sophie's family—they soon discover that there's something much more nefarious going on under their noses than simple rich people tomfoolery. If you're steeped in this sort of thing, you probably know where this is headed already. While we'd love to tell you that this flick is as skinsational as those other similar properties, there's not as much nudity in this as there is in some of those. There is some sexiness when Lea van Acken and Tijan Marei share a sapphic smooch, as well as a scene where Milena Tscharntke is seen in her bra and undies, but the only nudity comes courtesy of a topless old woman played by Marita Michaelis!
