Rear Window (1954)

Considered by many critics to be one of Alfred Hitcock's best movies, Rear Window (1954) takes place in a relatively small setting: a courtyard where a group of neighbors all live. A photographer named Jeff breaks his leg while he's on assignment and is bound to a wheelchair, unable to leave his apartment very frequently. To occupy his mind, he looks out the rear window of his apartment and observes his neighbors across the courtyard. One woman, who he calls Miss Torso (Georgine Darcy) spends a lot of time stretching in her bra, which must be quite entertaining indeed. Things get more sinister when he notices another neighbor, Lars Thorwald, get into a fight with his wife right before she suddenly disappears. He makes a lot of suspicious late-night trips and is seen cleaning a hand saw and a knife, so Jeff decides to employ his girlfriend Lisa (Grace Kelly) to help him solve the crime.
