The breakout role that established Marilyn Monroe as a female lead was Niagara (1953). It’s about a couple that are honeymooning in a motel near Niagara Falls, but the wife has some devious intentions for the trip that she’s plotting with her secret lover. She’s planning on offing her husband, but her thought out plans don’t necessarily go as smoothly as she imagined, because someone is hot on her trail. With its DVD transfer we can relish in a young and colorful Marilyn, and she looks as great as ever in one of her non-song-and-dance roles. There’s one scene in particular where she’s wearing a white nighty in her separate twin bed from her dude that she looks exceptionally great in. By today’s standards it seems pretty tame, but the cleavage and mild upskirt can still be appreciated. Be careful not to get too wet in Niagara!
