In it’s way as influential as The Godfather (1972) or Shaft (1971), and like them never surpassed, not even by their own excellent sequels, Porky’s (1982) sets a bar for raunchy hilarity that few teen sex comedies ever approach, never mind surpass. Made by Canadian adults in the 1980s and lampooning the hijinks and misadventures of high-school horn dogs in Florida in the 1950s, Porky’s presents a nonstop barrage of low-brow sight and sex gags that skewer adolescent male fixations that run the gamut from the girls’ shower room to the local whorehouse, Chez Porky. And then a triumphant revenge drama breaks out at the end! The kids rise up against the adults and defeat them! No wonder Porky’s is one of the most popular films in the history of American cinema.
