Movie madman Klaus Kinski directs and stars in Paganini (1989), a sexed-up biopic of the notorious eighteenth-century violinist Niccolo Paganini. By originally titling the film Kinski Paganini, the mentally unhinged actor acknowledges kinship with his subject--an artistic virtuoso whose obsession with teen lolitas and knack for squandering cash led him down dark alleyways of the soul. Kinski amps up the hedonistic impulses of the talented musician by portraying him in copious couplings with some of European film’s hottest actresses. It’s little surprise that Kinski cast himself alongside the tantalizing Deborah Caprioglio, Dalila Di Lazzaro, and Eva Grimaldi, two of whom are frequently naked.
