An actress with a traumatic past works out her sexual issues in very unhealthy ways in the Ozspliotation slasher flick Nightmares (aka Stage Fright) (1980). When she was a child, Cathy’s attempts to control her “loose” mother led to her mom’s death in a car crash. Now Cathy (Jenny Neumann) is grown up, and she’s got a new name, Helen, and a new career as a theater actress. But childhood trauma isn’t so easy to shake, and Helen’s neurosis manifests itself in a penchant for murdering her costars with shards of broken glass. Actors- they’re so high-maintenance!
