Wispy, thin brunette Laurie Walters was born under the name "Laurie Jean Walters" on January 8, 1947, in San Francisco, California. Laurie got her start in theater, briefly attending UC Santa Barbara before moving to Berkeley, California, which is where she worked with the Berkeley Repertory Theater. Laurie started working way ahead of the nudity curve and ended flat-out fully clothed. Though her career arc opposes the commonly seen descent into B-movie booby and bun exposure, fans of willowy Walters can take solace in the fact that their girl was at one time a ground-breaking mound shaker.

The Harrad Experiment (1973) was considered quite risqué for its time. The film's open-shirt, pants-off policy gave skinema devotees of the day every reason to believe that it was heralding a new age of frank, muff-baring movies. The plot concerned a group of advanced-placement college students who enrolled in a special program where they exchanged their bell bottoms and peasant blouses for bare skin. Laurie's shy poolside prancing is head to foot revealing, front and back. The lissome lass might have become a skin icon.

Fortunately for her, but unfortunately for us, she landed a part on Eight Is Enough (1977), which pulled her into the TV eye, a locus from which she rarely emerged. Here's a fun trivia tidbit for you, she was several months older than the woman who played her (step)mother, Betty Buckley. Walters was 30 when the series first aired and 34 when it signed off. Lani O’Grady, who played the oldest sister in the Eight is Enough clan, was nearly eight years younger than Walters.

Some of Laurie's other onscreen credits include works such as The Love Boat (1978), Hollywood Beat (1985), Highway to Heaven (1987), Eight Is Enough: A Family Reunion (1987), The Taking of Flight 847: The Uli Derickson Story (1988), An Eight Is Enough Wedding (1989), Dragnet (1990), and Evening Shade (1993). Laurie hasn't appeared onscreen since the '90s, but we hope she'll get inspired to strip for the camera again!
