Köln 75 (2025)

Despite opposition from her conservative dentist father (Ulrich Tukur) and worried mother (Jördis Triebel), who would much rather she concentrate on school, eighteen-year-old Vera Brandes (Mala Emde) dreams of becoming a jazz promoter in her hometown of Köln. With some pluck and perseverance (plus some borrowed money), she’s able to book jazz pianist Keith Jarrett (John Magaro), already embarked on a tour of Europe, to play at the Köln Opera House in 1975, the recording of which would ultimately become the best-selling solo album in jazz history and the best-selling piano album in history. The journey to the stage is not an easy one, but our gal gets the job done and manages to deliver some nudity along the way! Mala’s mams come out during a brief scene where she quickly gets out of bed and throws her clothes back on. Getting to see a rack like that? Looks like 75 was a great time to be alive!
