Humongous (1982)

Size may indeed be relative, but some objects are so big that the mind is incapable of wrapping itself around their vastness. These ultra-gigantic items exist in a realm so far and away beyond huge that a new word was required to describe their largeness, thus providing an evocative and exciting title for Humongous (1982). The first shock of Humongous is that it is directed not by titan of tits Russ Meyer, but by slasher master Paul Lynch, who blazed a trail for cleavers-and-kids flicks with Prom Night (1980). The fun-loving teenagers of Humongous are doomed to scream bloody murder and be seen bloodily murdered when their pleasure craft shipwrecks on a small, remote island inhabited solely by a bitter crone's baby, a son spawned of violence and hate who has grown into a towering, superhumanly strong murderous monster. He's big, as are the thrills, chills, and blood spills of Humongous.
