3 Below (2005)

When avaricious developers flood a tranquil farm valley, they never suspect that spirits of the dead will rise from their graves to take revenge. Bobb Hopkins’s socially conscious horror film 3 Below (2005) tells of a land baroness, a wealthy banker, and a corrupt politician who close a deal to lay waste to a fertile Vermont valley. The trio figures that the creation of a luxury lakeside resort will make them unfathomably rich, but they don’t count on the fact that ghosts of nineteenth-century farmers aren’t willing to spend an eternity underwater. While the poltergeists make life hellish for the greedy threesome, most of the locals continue to earn their daily bread. For the buxom beauty Lucky (Nadine Riess), this means dancing for dollars at the local strip joint––an occupation that the ghosts are fully on board with.
