Supernova (2000)

The bizarre space epic Supernova (2000) was plagued by a plethora of production difficulties, nearly all of which contributed to the movie being a critically derided, box office bomb. Director Geoffrey Wright bailed on the gig early on, then Walter Hill asked for a fake name to be used in the credits in place of his own, in large part because he disagreed with Francis Ford Coppola's editing. By the time the movie was released, there were four alternative endings, and the trailer showed all sorts of scenes that didn't end up in the theater version of the movie. Still, it’s a likable enough sci-fi film with plenty of good performances. Often compared to a poor man's Event Horizon (1997) the film follows Nightingale 229, a search and rescue ship helmed by Captain A.J. Marley (Robert Forster) as they investigate a distress signal coming from the moon Titan. It ends up Karl Larson (Peter Facinelli) made the call, in part because he wanted to see his ex: Nightingale medical officer Dr. Kaela Evers (Angela Bassett). But Karl is different now. He found an alien artifact that gives him super strength and is going to use those powers to kill any of the crew members that try to keep him away from Kaela. Copilot Nick Vanzant (James Spader) recognizes that there's also a serious time crunch to deal with, seeing how Titan's gravity field is going to destroy the ship if they don't get out of there in a few hours. Needless to say, the Nightingale needs to figure out what to do about Karl. How hot could an ex be that you're willing to go through all this trouble to try and win her back? Check out Angela Bassett’s nude scene and see if Karl's plan doesn't make a bit more sense. Sure, Angela might be using a body double, but whoever it was sure has it! But the best tits on the moon Titan come from Robin Tunney! Robin didn't use a double, that body was all hers. We see Robin's rack a bunch of times, both when she's sexing up Lou Diamond Phillips and when she's stripping down to get into the pod. Great bod! Who cares if it was a huge bomb? The movie was well worth the money just for that shot of Robin Tunney! It might have been a mess, but those were some super sexy scenes in Supernova!
