The Double Lover (2017)

What’s better than one lover? The Double Lover (2017) of course! Also known as L’Amant double, this erotic thriller debuted at Cannes in French with English subtitles. Based on the novel Lives of the Twins by Joyce Carol Oates, the freaky flick follows Chloé (Marine Vacth) who falls in love with her therapist (Jérémie Renier). She moves in with him quicker than you can say, “Freudian slip.” Alas, the gorgeous ingénue happens upon her man’s doppelganger. After doing a little digging, she finds out that her lover has an estranged identical twin brother! He’s also a therapist, but is meaner than his brother. Chloé reacts as any insane person would — she begins to have an affair with the evil twin behind the other’s back! It’s not exactly a ménage à trois, but it’s kinky just the same. In fact, the film opens with a close-up of a gynecological exam where fans can see right into a vagina. It’s not Ms. Vacth’s snatch, but one from her body double. Fortunately, Marine struts her stuff in the buff throughout most of the movie. We get to see her bare breasts and nude booty during several sex scenes — one in which she wears a strap-on to peg her dude! Later, the naked babe lounges in bed, flaunting her full frontal nudity and her pussy cat (literally and metaphorically). When the film was released, it competed for the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival. Since then, it’s won Mr. Skin’s Palm d’Peen prize!
