The Doctor and the Devils (1985)

The gothic thriller The Doctor and the Devils (1985) is based on the true story of Scotland’s notorious nineteenth-century murderers who sold the corpses of their sixteen victims to Dr. Thomas Rock (Timothy Dalton), a passionate anatomy professor who uses the bodies to teach aspiring doctors lessons on the human body. What’s difficult for the dissecting doc is maintaining a steady supply of bodies to cut up for class. But thanks to his trusty assistant Dr. Murray (Julian Sands) and his devious ways, he’s able to secure cadavers by paying grave robbers to plunder graves. But when the drunken duo of Robert Fallon and Timothy Broom (Jonathan Pryce and Stephen Rea) catch wind of Dr. Rock’s cash-for-corpses campaign, they decide to beat mother nature to the punch by murdering the poor and selling their fleshly-killed bodies to the good doctor. But when the murders start to hit too close to home for Docs Rock and Murray, and Fallon and Broom get into a moral argument about their actions, it’s only a matter of time before the actions of the devious dudes lead them to a doom-filled climax. And thanks to Nichola McAuliffe, we’re led down a carnal path when her right boobie is briefly exposed by a lecherous groper. Mr. Skin would love to play doctor with Ms. McAuliffe!
