Test Pattern (2021)

Test Pattern (2019) is a film that examines the racism inherent in America's healthcare and criminal justice system from the perspective of one couple. Ballers star Brittany S. Hall and The OA's Will Brill star as Renesha and Evan, a young interracial couple whose relationship is put to the test over the course of an agonizing evening. When Renesha finds herself on the receiving end of a brutal assault, Evan becomes bound and determined to see her get justice. Evan must soon confront his own white privilege as he has to drive Renesha from hospital to hospital in search of a kit that can retain crucial evidence in her assault and which every hospital in the area seems to be out of at the moment. Of course, this preservation of evidence is merely the first step in a long journey to justice, but if there are this many obstacles to the first step, imagine how disheartening it must be for anyone to want to report a crime. This scathing indictment of America's treatment of people of color in America is the place to go for an in-depth discussion on such issues, but it's obviously not a great place for sexual content and nudity. Thankfully Renesha's assault occurs off screen, but we do get to see plenty of sexy cleavage from Brittany S. Hall just ten minutes in when she and co-star Brill have a tender and loving scene of foreplay! If you're looking to get off, Test Pattern flunks that key metric, at least in our books!
