Entertainment Tonight proclaimed Sybil Danning to be The World's Number One Female Action Star, but her success was measured in videotape rentals. Thankfully, this Austrian beauty bared as much ass as she kicked. Sybil started out in classic international sexploitation such as Housewives Report (1971). She became semi-respectable, however, while providing full-on erections as Richard Burton's bisexual wife in Bluebeard (1972). Then it was back to European delights such as Naughty Nymphs (1972) before Sybil broke through as a mighty warrior in a mighty-skimpy outfit in Battle Beyond the Stars (1980). Fans adore her naked scenes in a wide variety of vintage B-movies, and it's hard to choose a favorite--although many people consider Chained Heat (1983) to be the definitive women's prison movie, in large part to large Sybil's domineering shower scene with Linda Blair. In addition, fans of teen sex comedie, rank Sybil's bizarre May-December romance They're Playing With Fire (1984) as on of the weirdest entries in the genre (the flick combines typical hormone-farce antics with slasher movie elements and, of course, Sybil's sumptuous sacks). Crossover success never came for her, though--despite talk of Bond films and Terminator sequels--and Sybil retired in 1986 as a true icon of low-budget sexuality.
