Pearl (2022)

If you thought that Ti West's down and dirty horror flick X (2022) was a standalone movie, think again! It's actually the first part in a trilogy that West has covertly shot with leading lady Mia Goth, continuing with the prequel Pearl: An X-traordinary Origin Story (2022). Co-written by West and Goth, the film follows her villainous character from X in her early life and how she came to be the vicious psychopathic killer we meet in that film. At the opening, Pearl (Goth) is just a lonely immigrant girl surviving the aftermath of the 1918 pandemic by escaping to the movie theater where she falls for the projectionist (David Corenswet). Things get... weird from there and it's not worth spoiling other than to say that Mia Goth takes a bath 21 minutes in and we can see her left breast! The whole thing wraps up with MaXXXine (2023), which promises even more skinsational thrills, chills, and hopefully some spills!
