Mischief (1985)

Being shy and horny during the 1950s was a tough road to trudge, unless you had a brash buddy who could mentor you in the complexities of reinforced bras, big panties, confining girdles and how to navigate to the skin within. Enter the American romp Mischief (1985) with Jami Gertz and Catherine Mary Stewart, not to be confused with the British thriller White Mischief (1988) starring Greta Scacchi. This breezy teen sex comedy follows two adolescent males (Doug McKeon and Chris Nash) coming into a state of sexual hyperactivity along with the nation at large. Erotic mores were expanding — along with Mr. Skin’s trousers. Social structures were straining — as well as Mr. Skin’s briefs. And the little rich girl onscreen was fighting against the sway of her parents’ control. Will she free her body and present it to her rebel suitor? And, more importantly, will Mischief include nudity? The answer is… YES! Thanks to the late and lovely Kelly Preston, this period piece knows how to please. The former Mrs. Travolta goes full frontal to reveal her renowned rack and big bush. If that’s not hot enough, the blonde hottie dons a lace brassiere in another scene and also bares her butt in bed! The New York Times wrote, “if Norman Rockwell had wanted to make Porky’s he might have come up with something like Mischief…” No doubt, the R rated flick is nostalgic for Mid-Century Americana and for the movie’s dearly departed starlet. Farewell, Ms. Preston. We’ll miss you!
