A nebbishy police chief pursues two cool crooks in Le Cercle Rouge (1970). Corey (Alain Delon) is an aristocratic con man who escapes from prison on the same day that Vogel (Gian Maria Volonté), a wanted murderer, eludes police superintendent Mattei (André Bourvil).
