A pretty French woman returns to her sleepy hometown and finds herself in the middle of a scuffle between locals in the lyrical romantic drama L’Affût (1992). Dominique Blanc stars as Isabelle, an attractive single woman who piques the interest of a pair of rivals--an amateur hunter (Patrick Bouchitey) and a sweet-tempered birdwatcher (Tchéky Kary). Because the two men can’t agree on how the local bird population should be treated, Isabelle is sucked into a squabble with both ecological and romantic dimensions. One thing that’s not for the birds is co-star Evelyne Buyle, who appears briefly as a nude painter’s model worthy of Matisse.
