Stephen Dorff plays Wade Porter, a working-class father sent up the river after killing a burglar, in the gritty prison drama Felon (2008). Once he's behind bars, Porter learns the ropes from enlightened lifer John Smith (Val Kilmer), but he’s still crushed by the omnipresence of savagery and despair in the hoosegow. Harold Perrineau, who portrayed the wheelchair-bound narrator Augustus Hill on HBO’s Oz, here gets cast as a psychotically brutal guard. Still, there’s a beacon of hope to be found in Felon. Actually, there are two: the double naked headlights of 24 babe Marisol Nichols. She plays our hero’s wife and, by removing her shirt, gives him an image to hold onto throughout his sentence. You’ll just hold onto yourself. Hard. And there ain't no crime in that.
