Blue Hill Avenue (2001)

Blue Hill Avenue (2001) is a tough section in Boston where a group of friends grow up and into the world of gangsters. As those friends are black and the film made in the new millennium, the action is sort of a hybrid of classic blaxploitation fare filtered through a Martin Scorsese attitude. The bloodshed is pure GoodFellas (1999), but the skin harks back to the chocolate milk sacks of Pam Grier. While Wanda Arab, in an uncredited role, is not as well known as the diva of the drive-in, she’s equally well endowed, and she shows. Latamra Smith gets completely nude but manages to hide her dark bush. Still, this hill is blue in the best sense of the word.
