Don't Look Up (2021)

Don't Look Up (2021) is an Adam McKay satire that skewers modern life and political attitudes towards climate change. McKay came up with the idea after reading a devastating Climate Report and the crazy thing is that that was right before the global pandemic. What a coincidence! The plot follows two astronomers played by Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence who aren't very high up in their department who discover that a deadly comet is flying through space with Earth as its likely landing spot. They now try to warn everyone: politicians, the news media, friends and family, and the president of the United States who is played by the impenetrable Meryl Streep. They do this with varying degrees of success, but they really do make it their mission to try and that is where the comedy comes in. Remember: it is a comedy - albeit a very cynical one. Something that we are not cynical about is the nudity in this movie. There is a scene where a bunch of nude humans land on an alien planet - yes, the movie even goes there - and wander around this brand new green paradise. Meryl Streep is one of the nude humans who walks across the screen to show her booty and the angel wings tramp stamp that is right above her butt. This isn't Meryl's actual ass. It belongs to a very fine-looking body double. You really do have to look up at this scene in Don't Look Up to see that booty!
