Backbeat (1994) is the story of The Beatles before they were the Fab Four, in fact, before there were four of them. There were five, and nobody's name was Ringo Starr. John, Paul, and George are rounded out by Stuart Sutcliffe, played by Stephen Dorff, and original drummer Pete Best. The band is working the bottom rung of the sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll circuit in the club scene of Hamburg, Germany. Along the way to stardom Dorff gets sidetracked by Sheryl Lee, who plays painter Astrid Kirchherr. Sheryl lures Dorff with a couple of nude scenes, including one where Finola Geraghty shows off her arty jugs as an artist's model. There's also ample male nudity, if you go that way. Backbeat will leave you beating off to the oldies.
