Kingsmen franchise director Matthew Vaughn helms this over-the-top spy film about a writer with crippling anxiety and writer’s block named Elly Conway (Bryce Dallas Howard), who’s working on the latest installment of her popular literal series about a secret agent named Argylle. While on a train with her cat Alfie on the way to visit her mother (Catherine O’Hara), Elly meets real-life spy Aidan (Sam Rockwell) who was sent to protect her from would-be assassins that think she is in possession of vital info. Apparently, her last Argylle novel hit a little too close to the truth, and the villainous leader (Bryan Cranston) of an underground organization known as The Division has her in his sights. It turns out that there really is an Agent Argylle and Aidan takes her to meet Alfred Soloman (Samuel L. Jackson) who reveals the truth about the super spy. Bryce gets the chance to cut a rug with Rockwell while in a low-cut sequin dress, which is a reference to the opening scene where a delicious Dua Lipa dances with Cavill while in her own tight, cleavage-baring number. We wouldn’t mind getting under both their covers!
