The Ugly Stepsister (2025)

Looking for a new life for her and her daughters Elvira (Lea Myren) and Alma (Flo Fagerli), recent widow Rebekka (Ane Dahl Torp) journeys afar to meet her new husband, Otto (Ralph Carlsson). But then soon into their marraige, he dies as well, leaving Rebekka to care for his daughter, the beautiful Agnes (Thea Sofie Loch Naess) as well. The bookish Elvira dreams of marrying Prince Julian (Isac Calmroth) after reading his book of poetry, and she is suddenly presented with the chance to meet him when Rebekka enrolls her into Miss Sophie (Cecilia Forss)’s finishing school where the prince will hold a special matchmaking ball. With her mother determined to see Elvira married to the prince, she’s made to undergo excrutiating changes to her appearance (dramatic weight loss, braces, surgeries, etc), filled with self-loathing as she’s pitted against Agnes for a brighter future. Despite all she goes through, Lea is a stunner in our book, and she outdoes Thea in the nudity department (we've marked down the extreme taint close up as the work of a body double). Now that's putting the tail in fairy tale!
