Sick of Myself (2022)

Norwegian filmmaker Kristoffer Borgli broke out in a big way with his first American film Dream Scenario (2023), but he's been attacking the age of social media for several years now, starting with his quasi-documentary Drib (2017) and continuing with his first narrative feature film Sick of Myself (2022). The film is centered around the toxic relationship between kleptomaniac artist Thomas (Eirik Sæther) and his girlfriend Signe (Kristine Kujath Thorp), who is becoming increasingly jealous of Thomas' success. Signe begins doing increasingly insane things in an attempt to constantly steal attention away from him, culminating in her ordering massive quantities of a Russian pharmaceutical that was banned for it's horrific side effects. Upon becoming a celebrity herself as a result, Thomas counters with his own insane and desperate attempt to reclaim the spotlight. Leading lady Kristine Kujath Thorp goes topless for a sex scene between the two of them wherein they get one another off by fantasizing about the other's funeral! Crazy stuff!
