The Gateway (2021)

The Gateway (2021) is a film that began life as part of the famous Black List of the best unproduced scripts back in 2013 when it was titled Where Angels Die. While that is arguably a much better title, the film itself remains mostly the same. Shea Wigham stars as Parker, a former prize fighter turned social worker who works in the seedier areas of St. Louis in the shadow of—you guessed it—the Gateway Arch. His latest case involves him keeping tabs on a blackjack dealer and single mother named Dahlia (Olivia Munn), that is when he's not frequenting his favorite dive bar and hooking up with another regular at the bar named Corey (Taryn Manning). Things get especially trying for Parker when Dahlia's ex-husband Mike (Zach Avery), the father of her daughter, gets out of prison and begins exploiting Dahlia's connections at the casino where she works to bolster his own position in a crime outfit run by the ruthless Duke (Frank Grillo). Parker must now work his way through this tangled web to save the life of not only Dahlia, but also her young daughter who has taken a shine to Parker and looks to him for guidance. It will put all of his skills to the test if he's going to succeed. The always sexy Taryn Manning does her latest nude scene in this flick, waking up nude in bed next to Wigham at the 31 minute mark and showing off some terrific T'n'A as she gets dressed for the day!
