The Feeling That the Time for Doing Something Has Passed (2024)

Writer-director Joanna Arnow plays Ann, a thirtysomething Millennial we immediately learn is in a kinky situationship with the much older Allen (Scott Cohen), which consists of her baring her boobs, butt, and bush while in bed with her fully clothed man and dry humping him while he pretends to sleep. He has little to no interest in her pleasure or her personal life despite them carrying on like this for nine years, but his indifference is what seems to turn Ann on. It might be a sense of comfort, as she seems to go through her days surrounded by condescending and disinterested people, including her own parents (played by Joanna’s real mom and dad, Barbara Weiserbs and David Arnow.) There are lots of looks at the couple’s BDSM interactions, most of which feature a fully naked Joanna, but also a few scenes showing her branching out into fetish-y flings with other men, especially Babak Tafti, who she poses in the nude for. There’s not much of the movie where she isn’t showing skin, so it'll be hard.... NOT to feel like doing a little something something!
