Kinds of Kindness (2024)

Director Yorgos Lanthimos reteams with his writing partner from Dogtooth, The Lobster, and The Killing of a Scared Deer Efthimis Filippou to deliver three different tales featuring the same cast in this 2024 follow-up to the Oscar-winning Poor Things. Poor Things’ Emma Stone, Willam Dafoe, and Margaret Qualley return along with Jesse Plemons, Hunter Schafer, Hong Chau and more to tell this trio of tales. The first centers on Plemons as a man under the thumb of a wealthy boss (Dafoe) who dictates every aspect of his life, from what he drinks to whether he and his wife (Chau) have kids, but when he’s ordered to get into a debilitating car accident that might kill the other driver, the dutiful employee starts to have second thoughts about this lifestyle. In the second, Plemons plays the cop husband of a woman (Stone) feared lost at sea who passes the time awaiting to hear her fate by having dinner with his partner (Mamoudou Athie) and his wife (Qualley) and watching a sex tape the couples made during a wife-swapping foursome where both Emma and Margaret are nude. But when she ultimately comes home, he suspects that she’s not his wife at all. Lastly, Plemons and Stone team up again as members of a cult headed by Dafoe and Chau who are trying to locate a prophesized healer. Hunter bares her boobs as someone who might be who they are looking for as does Margaret playing a pair of twins who show their twins, while Emma’s butt and bush come out while in bed with Joe Alwyn. There’s all kinds of nudity in this flick!
