Exploitation filmmaker extraordinaire Jack Hill (Spider Baby, Coffy, The Swinging Cheerleaders) unleashes his wild talents on girl gangs in the midnight-movie masterpiece Switchblade Sisters (1975). The Dagger Debs are L.A.'s toughest all-girl posse. They're led with a hot leather fist by Lace (Robbie Lee) and her one-eyed lieutenant, Patch (Monica Gayle), and all is ass-stompingly groovy until new chick in town Maggie (Joanne Nail) threatens the balance of power. After a street brawl lands all our outlaw heroines in jail, Maggie unites with the Debs. Once they're sprung from the poky, the lethal ladies mount all-out war against a rival operation called the Crabs. Battling both the cops and other crooks, the Debs ultimately join up with a radical left-wing revolutionary outfit and, man, does the shit go down. With bikers, brawls, blades, and babes behind bars, Switchblade Sisters is one slashingly perfect moviegoing experience.
