Review

Whether on the big or small screen, one needs only to look at these titles — Mutant (1984), Mutant Hunt (1987), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990), Mutant Action (1993), Mutant Species (1995), Mutant Man (196), Mutant Girls Squad (2010), Mutant Planet (2010-2014), Mutant Blast (2018), Mutant Ghost Wargirl (2021), Mutant Python (2021), and Deep Sea Mutant Snake (2022) — to realize folks flock to mutant-themed entertainment. So, it’s no surprise mutant mosquitos are swarming around in the R rated flick Skeeter (1994). Clark Brandon’s creepy crawly monster movie follows the blood-sucking flyers that feed off of humans. In true chiller diller fashion, discarded barrels of toxic goop create an army of deadly pests. As such, Hopper (Michael J. Pollard), Drake (Jay Robinson), Mary Ann (Stacy Edwards), Chrissy (Lindsay Fisher) and Dorothy (Barbara Baldavin) are among the residents of an unnamed desert town who dive for cover. Luckily, Roy Boone (Jim Youngs), Ernie Buckle (Charles Napier) and Gordon Perry (William Sanderson) risk their lives in order to peel off the skeeters one by one. As far as a plot, that’s all we’ve got. But if you’re looking for some skin, check out a scene about an hour into the pic. That’s when Sarah Crosby (Tracy Griffith) can be seen making out with her man. The skintastic act showcases her alabaster rack in the sack. We’re happy to report that her bare breasts do not represent mosquito bites in the least. No wonder these mutant insects want to suck on Ms. Griffith’s fab flesh!
