Sharper (2023)

The con is on in more ways than one is this dramatic thriller that starts with Tom (Justice Smith), a seller of rare first editions of novels meeting PhD candidate Sandra (Briana Middleton) at his quaint old bookshop. They begin a relationship that seemingly gets pretty serious rather quickly. One day she reveals that she has a brother who is strapped for cash and in imminent danger from the mob so Tom gets the money from his wealthy hedge fund running father (John Lithgow) and gives it to Sandra, who then ghosts him. As it turns out, Sandra is the con artist apprentice of the even slimier Max (Sebastian Stan), who happens to be connected to Madeline (Julianne Moore), Tom’s father’s new hot wife. You’ll get a sharp spike in your pants as the always juicy Julianne straddles Sebastian before the two start swappin’ spit!
