Outta Time (2002)

Saved by the Bell alum Mario Lopez tries to bust out of the Saturday-morning-TV ghetto with the rags-to-riches action-drama Outta Time (2002). Lopez plays a Mexican soccer prodigy who uses his quick feet to navigate out of the slums and into an American university. Unfortunately a knee injury causes David (Lopez) to lose his scholarship, leaving him to make money in a different way. When a shadowy ex-professor offers David a job trucking experimental serums across the U.S.-Mexican border, David decides to risk his neck and take the job. The prof instructs David to drop the loot off and come straight back, but he’s understandably derailed by the curvaceous Ali Landry (Lopez’s former real-life squeeze), who bewitches him with her hip-shaking moves.
