Madron (1970) is not the fictionalized biography of Ron Howard that we’ve been shopping around Hollywood. Thank God. No, this is a Western about a nun, the only surviver of an Indian massacre of a wagon train, who is taken in by a cantankerous old gunfighter. Weren’t all gunfighters back in the days of the Wild West cantankerous? Ours is not to ask these questions, of course, but to delve into deeper and more important queries. We have to pose the Big Questions, such as is there any nudity in this film? To that we can happily say, Yes! Leslie Caron as the sister of mercy is merciful to her audience of devote perverts when her top is ripped off and we get to briefly see one of her holy pair.
