Less than Zero (1987)

What are the chances that Mr. Skin won’t get aroused when seeing a starlet flash her flesh? We guess Less Than Zero (1987). Alas, Marek Kanievska’s college drama is a bit skingy when it comes to nudity. Nevertheless, we’ll take what we can get, especially if that means seeing deep cleavage. Thankfully, this R-rated film provides plenty of that via the low-cut getups on Jami Gertz. She plays Blair, the ex-girlfriend of freshman Clay (Andrew McCarthy) who returns to L.A. for the holidays only to learn his former classmate has gone to hell. Julian (Robert Downey Jr.) is on a downward spiral due to his drug addiction and growing debt to coke dealer Rip (James Spader). It’s all very decadent despite the fact that it doesn’t have much in common with the Bret Easton Ellis book. Of course, the 1985 novel can’t provide the thrill of seeing Ms. Gertz bare her nipple while making out with Mr. McCarthy in bed. Although the author was unhappy with this flick at the time of its release, he eventually came around to it. In fact, Mr. Ellis even penned a sequel story entitled “Imperial Bedrooms” in 2010. He also expressed interest in another cinematic adaptation featuring McCarthy, Gertz and Spader. However, Mr. Downey Jr. would be unable to return since his character does not survive the first book. But just because Julian doesn’t have a happy ending doesn’t mean home audiences can’t — especially if they use Skin Vision to focus in on Jami’s nip!
