Les bois noirs (1989)

Some people get married, and life falls into place, the world makes sense, existence takes on a divine order. Then there are those tortured souls who slip the ring on their finger and watch their universe spin into an out-of-control orbit, such as the heroine in Les Bois noirs (1989), a dramatic exploration of marriage and mortality by French director Jacques Deray. The newlywed wife has barely brushed the rice from her hair when she is being accused of murder. Did she do the deed or is she a simple patsy? If she is innocent, then who is the real killer, and what’s to stop the villain from knocking her off next?
