Drum (1976)

The 1976 Slavesploitation flick Drum (1976) is a sequel to the much more well known film Mandingo (1975), which also starred former Heavyweight Champion of the World Ken Norton. It's a bit confusing, since Ken's character dies at the end of Mandingo, and in this one he's playing the son of that character. But that's probably the last thing that should bother you in this flick that uses Chattel slavery as a plot device for a sleazy, tits and fisticuffs filled action movie. Ken plays Drum, a biracial slave whose bareknuckle boxing abilities make him the talk of the plantation, and the apple of gay French slaver Bernard DeMarigny's (John Colicos) eye. But Drum's not down for taking it in the bum and would break the face of any dude who tried to buckbreak him, so he rejects the offer and ends up sold to the cruel plantation owner Hammond Maxwell (Warren Oates) as retribution. Maxwell's got the hottest piece of brown sugar ever, Regine (Pam Grier) as his bedwench, but that doesn't mean he's cool with his daughter Sophie (Cheryl "Ranibeaux" Smith) canoodling with the slave men. She wants Drum, but settles for Blaise (Yaphet Kotto), which really pisses off Hammond. After Sophie's cherry ends up popped by the cotton picking farmhand, Maxwell decides he's gonna castrate that man, but Drum's not going to let that happen. Suddenly, Drum's leading a slave revolt to save his best bud's big black balls! The wet panty-bellum South might be a dark place for a sex filled movie, but things were different back in the seventies. Not our love of tits, though! Pam Grier's enormous mams make an appearance as she hops into bed with Maxwell, while Brenda Sykes shows her black beauties while boning Drum. But if you prefer the white meat, there's Isela Vega flashing her cans while changing her top, Fiona Lewis showing all three B's as she takes a bath, and best of all, young Cheryl Smith flashing her goodies as she tries to seduce Blaithe. Ignore the jarring, hard R, N-bomb she drops on Drum for cockblocking her, though. After all, att eh end Ken Norton frees the slaves, but not before all the hotties free the titties in Drum!
