The print ads for the notorious drive-in classic Pets (1974) featured Candice Rialson with a dog collar around her pretty neck. The sexy ’70s starlet certainly gets her chain yanked around in this film, starting when she hooks up with psycho femme hitchhiker Teri Guzman. After they rob a poor male hitchhiker, Candice becomes the plaything for rich (and homicidal) lesbian Joan Blackman. This logically leads to her posing for a painting and being caged by obsessive collector Ed Bishop. He locks her up with his other beautiful specimens (tigers, dogs, etc.), and the audience starts wondering just what kind of film this is going to become. By then, however, the film’s already a classic of skinema.
