Double Cross (1994)

The double cross in Double Cross (1994) begins when Patrick Bergin chances upon Kelly Preston in a sports car and decides, as any sane or halfway sane man would, to give chase. What comes next is sex and a big old car crash, and Kelly gets Pat to sign off on the story that the accident was her husband's fault. Even though her husband was nowhere to be seen, Pat agrees to play along, thus becoming the cutie pie's alibi. What has he gotten himself into? It looks more and more like a murder plot, which is not so hot for Pat, who has a criminal record. He's afraid of going to the slammer for lying under oath. And with good reason! Kevin Tighe is the rich rat of a husband, Matt Craven is a suspicious insurance investigator, and the always-thrilling Jennifer Tilly plays a video-store owner who sees through all the shenanigans.
