Die Verhaftung des Johann Nepomuk Nestroy (2000)

A satirical playwright's work gets him in trouble with the government in the German TV movie Die Verhaftung des Johann Nepomuk Nestroy (2000). In 19th century Austria, Johann Nepomuk Nestroy (Fritz Karl) writes plays that cleverly--and subtly--satirize the powers that be. But then one of his works goes just a little bit too far, and Nestroy is arrested by the secret police. But before he goes, co-star Myriam Abbas gives him (and us) something to tug his ball and chain to by baring her Austrian apples.
